Roundup of Roundup Replacement Reviews
Here’s a list of links to other people who have been posting their opinions on the new daytime programming - the RoundUp cancellation, Freestyle and the National Playlist. Some of the links were found through people who wrote in their support (thanks Brodie), others were found through technorati.

why reduce cbc to other radio programmes? isn’t that why we turn to cbc… to hear something that mainstream stations don’t offer? what were they thinking?

you know it’s sad to think that even though they’ve managed to, and know that they have, pissed off everyone who listens to the cbc, all our complaining probably won’t change anything. are they a crown corporation? yes. who does a crown corp. answer to? the gov’t and does the gov’t listen to the people? no. i would love to have something intelligent put back on the roundup spot, but i am not holding my breath. i will however continue to innundate the cbc with my complaints each day that freestyle airs. do the same and there may be hope.

Jay, are you saying that the Roundup was intelligent??? ReallY??? I find the Freestyle mix witty and intelligent, and a nice break from CBC info overload or boring radio plays that no one has the time/inclination to follow. Yes, some of the music is mainstream, but so what? LOTS of people like that, that’s how it gets to be mainstream in the first place. Freestyle also plays a lot of Canadian music, and there are no commercials (YAY!)
Have you done any of your complaining directly to Freestyle, with requests for the bands you’d like to hear? That might be more effective than inundating the CBC in general!
